Last night I ventured to attend a singles Meet-up group. This was a richer experience than going to the galleries by myself.

One of the highlights of the evening was hearing artist Matt Lamb talk about his journey as an artist. At age forty-seven, he had an undertaker’s business. He mentioned smoking five packs of cigarettes a day and being given only months to live. He said that if he beat his deadly habit he would offer inspiration through his art.
