I got approved for SocialSpark !!! SocialSpark is an IZEA innovation. They’re the company that brought bloggers Pay Per Post.

If you’ve been blogging for at least three months like I have, and are looking for another way to monetize your blog, then you would more than likely qualify for Social Spark.

Like every network, there are rules that one must follow. There are the advertisers rules and then there are the social networks rules. Social Spark has rules and a code of ethics that each publisher (blogger) must follow. Listed below are the code of ethics for Social Spark.

 100% Audit-able In-Post Disclosure

What this means is that sponsored post must be disclosure. You have to your readers that you are being compensated for posting. Like myself, I’m being paid to post about signing up for SocialSpark.

Also, each blogger, at the end of each post must display a disclosure badge. This is used to protect both the blogger and the advertiser.

100% Transparency

Within the SocialSpark community, everyone can see which advertiser the blogger is working with and with which opportunity as well.

100% Real Opinions

The blogger is free to write what he feels about the products or services that they sign up for. Social Sparks suggest that bloggers write about the things that are related to their blog. If you don’t own it, never used it, or you just don’t feel good about it, it’s suggested that you pass on the opportunity.

100% Search Engine Friendly

Each sponsored link carries within it the attribute “no follow”. What does this mean? Well, back in 2005, Google, MSN, and Yahoo (the major search engines) came together to agree on a new attribute tag. The “no follow tag is created within the tag. For example: <a href=http://www.theblognovice.com” rel=”nofollow>The Blog Novice</a>. This will let the search engines know that someone else posted the link other than the site owner.

Navigating Social Spark

The first step when you join SocialSpark is to get your blog registered. Now, if you are registered with Pay Per Post, you might run into the problem I had. It said my blog was already registered (I tried signing up with Pay Per Post afterwards). After that you wait for Customer Love (customer service) to send you an email letting you know that your blog is approved.

I have yet to master all the areas of Social Spark however there is one area you want to get familar with.

MarketPlace

This is the area that you want to look for advertising opportunities. First, you want to check if the opportunity is open and the if you qualify for it. Social Spark make that easy by putting two buttons on the right of the advertising opportunity. If there are both green, you qualify.
